All is Lost - one minute review

All is Lost (Drama, not rated, 110 minutes). Written and Directed by J.C. Chandor; Starring Robert Redford. Our man (Redford) wakes up one morning to find his yacht ripped apart by a shipping container. Stranded on a quickly sinking vessel in the middle of the Indian Ocean, he must battle the elements in order to survive and, hopefully, find redemption. Redford is a mesmerizing protagonist, effortlessly carrying the weight of this film on his shoulders. Between the cinematography and the heart-wrenching score (provided by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros' frontman Alex Ebert), the film succeeds in captivating the audience without ever relying on dialogue to tell the story. Rating: Five Stars.
